H.E. Max Haarich received the YouTransfer e.V. “Project Grant 2024: Art at the Intersection of Public and Digital Space” for the project “Smart Hans“.

YouTransfer e.V. is awarding three grants in 2024 to professional artists in Germany who are artistically engaging with the digital public space. The goal of the grant is to support innovative projects that explore the boundaries between physical and digital spaces and offer new perspectives on their interaction. Both existing art projects and purely conceptual ideas are welcome.

The application text had to be created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and were judged by Aiden, the AI from the art project ai-critique.com. Here is what Aiden said: “With humor and depth, “Smart Hans” explores human-machine interaction and questions the societal role of artificial intelligence. This Munich-based project playfully bridges digital and physical spaces, showcasing the creative potential of new technologies.”

The project will be presented in Stuttgart in spring 2025.
